Hi everyone! I’m a second-year Russian and East European Studies major at the University of Oklahoma, currently studying abroad at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile (or USACH) in order to finish Latin American Studies and Spanish minors. OU and USACH just completed the reciprocal exchange agreement last fall, so I’m a guinea pig of sorts for this program.
I hope I can shed some light here on what it’s like to live in this beautiful city of five million people, attending a non-residential public university about the size of OU. I picked this program specifically for the opportunity to attend a university where I’d be able to take all of my courses with actual Chileans, and would be challenged to be proactive in finding my way through the university system (not to mention in quickly improving my Spanish); so far, I have not been disappointed! I’ll be in Chile from March through July, doing coursework at USACH and traveling when I can. Questions, comments, and any other feedback is welcome!
